Features

The Award Winning Folkrm Wyeast Carbon Ski Poles come equipped with Folkrm's extended Ultra Density EVA ergonomic grip to accommodate quick pole length adjustments to adapt to the current terrain you are in. The 18 mm matte 3k carbon shaft runs a larger diameter than the 16 mm aluminum Wyeast, boasting a noticeably stiffer pole in a lightweight package.

  • Extended Ultra Density EVA Foam Grip — Folkrm's signature long grip that allows you to comfortably grab your pole in multiple locations for on the fly pole length adjustments. Now in an ultra density EVA, soft for all day comfort and tough enough for hand shears and snow depth checks.
    • Grip Length: 64 cm / 25 in
  • Patrol Plate Top Cap — The reinforced flat edges on both sides of the top cap double as a snow scraper, clear your skis or board without breaking stride. Built to take an impact, whether you're whacking cornices or bashing boo to set a rope line.
  • Girth Hitched Straps — Connected by a simple girth hitch, through a hole on the back of the top cap, these adjustable pole straps can easily be removed and attached mid tour.
  • High Modulus Carbon Construction — High Modulus carbon provides a stiff platform that provides an efficient energy transfer on each pole plant so you can focus on executing your turn. All in a lightweight form so you don’t have to feel guilty about packing that extra Oreo.
  • Tungsten Carbide Tip — Used to strengthen armor on military tanks, tungsten seemed like a durable option for a pole tip. Yes it will hold up in pow and rocks.
  • TPU Powder Baskets — Thermoplastic elastomer baskets built with edges designed with enough surface area to keep your poles above the snow when it’s deep but enough flex to not hold you back on the steeps.

AI FAQs

AI generated FAQs about the Wyeast Ski Poles

Will these poles feel balanced and natural in my hands?

The lightweight high-modulus carbon construction and extended ergonomic EVA grip are built for a natural, secure hand feel. You can hold the 64 cm grip in multiple positions to adapt your hand placement as terrain changes.

Are these poles comfortable to grip for hours on the mountain?

The 64 cm Ultra Density EVA foam grip is made soft for all-day comfort. Its long, multi-position design lets you change hand placement on the fly as terrain shifts.

Do these poles help me plant and turn more confidently?

The high-modulus carbon shaft provides a stiff platform for efficient energy transfer on each pole plant. That responsive plant is intended to help you focus on executing your turns.

Will these poles help me on steep terrain?

The TPU powder baskets have enough surface area to stay above deep snow while retaining flex for steep terrain. That combination supports backcountry travel where you move between soft snow and steeper lines.

How well do these poles hold up to repeated impacts and catches?

The Patrol Plate top cap has reinforced flat edges and is built to take impacts. You can use those edges as a snow scraper and for impacts such as whacking cornices or bashing through brush to set a rope line.

Do these poles come with different grip or strap options?

These poles use a 64 cm extended Ultra Density EVA foam grip with adjustable girth-hitched straps. The straps attach through the back of the top cap and can be removed and reattached mid-tour.

Are the baskets the right size for the terrain I ski?

The TPU powder baskets provide enough surface area to keep the poles above the snow in deep conditions. Their flexible construction is also designed not to hold you back on steep terrain.

How do these poles compare to heavier or lighter alternatives?

The 18 mm carbon Wyeast shaft is larger in diameter than the 16 mm aluminum Wyeast and is designed to be noticeably stiffer while remaining lightweight. This construction prioritizes a stiff, efficient pole plant without adding unnecessary carry weight for touring days.

Should I choose poles with adjustable length, or are fixed poles better for my needs?

These are fixed-length ski poles available in 125 cm and 135 cm lengths. Their 64 cm extended EVA grip lets you shift hand position for quick effective length adjustment as terrain changes.
