The Broken Arrow Skyrace is a four-day, 10-distance event event held at world-famous Palisades Tahoe. June 18-21, 2026 elite and recreational participants will experience an unforgettable trail running experience “where the mountains meet the sky.” The Broken Arrow consists of nine iconic distances that showcase the beauty of Lake Tahoe, the Jewel of the Sierra Nevada.

Designed in the vein of classic European Skyraces, the Broken Arrow Skyrace represents a unique style of mountain running, characterized by off-trail scrambling on steep terrain with massive amounts of vertical gain and loss at altitude....with exposure, hand lines, a ladder and snow slopes thrown in for good measure!

The foothold improvements of Trail + with three options for arch support!

Non-slip soles allow for more control on rough terrain. The progrip underside of the sole maximises the grip between the sole and the shoe. The EVA foam prevents slipping between the sole and the sock. These two characteristics form the Sidas Grip technology. They allow greater control of the shoe, whether on the most accessible hikes or the most technical trail running races.

This model provides arch support for "slouchy" feet, thus slowing down muscle fatigue. The choice of materials delivers a light weight (39 g) and wear-resistant insole. The front of the insole has micro perforations to wick away moisture during activity and minimise the risk of blisters.

Our Race Ready pole is the Ultratrail FX.One Superlite. Alpenglow Sports trail runner and veteran Broken Arrow racer, Luke Nelson, used the Ultratrail FX.One Superlite while racing the Broken Arrow Triple Crown in 2023. Here's what he has to say:

"I originally didn't have the Superlite version of these poles until recently and it was a drastic change. I didn't realize dropping around 50g in weight would have an impact on how sore my arms and chest would get, but it was well worth it.
