Race Ready Items

The Broken Arrow Skyrace, presented by ACG (All Conditions Gear), is a four-day, 10-distance event held at world-famous Palisades Tahoe. June 18-21, 2026 elite and recreational participants will encounter an unforgettable trail running experience “where the mountains meet the sky.” The Broken Arrow consists of nine iconic distances that showcase the beauty of Lake Tahoe, the Jewel of the Sierra Nevada.

Designed in the vein of classic European Skyraces, the Broken Arrow Skyrace represents a unique style of mountain running, characterized by off-trail scrambling on steep terrain with massive amounts of vertical gain and loss at altitude....with exposure, hand lines, a ladder and snow slopes thrown in for good measure!

Broken Arrow Skyrace's unique and technical terrain inspired organizers to create a curated list of "Race Ready Items" - trail running gear that promises to deliver the best performance and will help you succeed on race day.  We've compiled trail running shoes, poles, nutrition, and essentials so that you can have the most confidence in your gear.  These items are supplied by our sponsors and have been hand picked by our race operations team, most of whom train on the mountain all summer long ... and know what works!

Alpenglow Sports, owned by founder and co-race director Brendan Madigan, is the exclusive retail partner for the Broken Arrow Skyrace. Accordingly, the Tahoe City shop offers Broken Arrow runners the best discounts on cutting-edge products. It's our pleasure to pass on incredible savings to the runners who make this event so special.

At the Broken Arrow Skyrace, we like to say that "whether you finish first or last YOU are a rockstar." Our hand-picked Race Ready items will definitely help you feel that way!

If products read "sold out" that means they are only available at Broken Arrow.

Darn Tough

Women's Stride Micro Crew UL

Pound the ground and put in the miles. It’s never easy, but at least it’s comfortable with the ultra-lightweight Stride running sock. Extra durability was knit into the heel, footbed and at the first and fifth metatarsal (outside toes). This micro crew sock features smooth, anti-chafe Merino Wool, with cooling mesh and a low-profile, next-to-skin fit that will match any hundo you throw its way.

  • Women's micro crew socks average 7.5 in. from heel to cuff - expect them to rise about 6 in. above a running sneaker.
  • A performance fit means no slipping, no bunching, no blisters. Here's to focusing on your run and not your feet.
  • Runners enjoy Merino Wool's ability to dry quickly and move excess heat and moisture away from feet.
  • Darn Tough Vermont's  lowest profile, ultra-lightweight yarns create zero bulk, zero itch socks that feel like a second skin.

Men's Stride Micro Crew UL

We went further and totally redesigned our Stride micro crew running sock for the lightest and smoothest fit — topped it off with performance arch support to reduce fatigue, flex windows for zero bunching and enhanced durability where our athletes need it most. Nah, wasn’t that hard.
