We Take Hiker Boxes!
We are so stoked that you're planning an epic through hike! Alpenglow Sports is happy to hold hiker boxes for resupply. The TRT and PCT are practically in our backyard and we cannot wait to hear your stories. We provide this service at no charge.
So that we can best help you, please take a look at our requirements below.
Hiker Box Checklist
- If you are shipping your box to us, please use FedEx or UPS only (not USPS), and ship to the following address:

Tahoe City, CA 96145 - Your box/container must be 12"x12"x12" or smaller. If we receive a box larger than this, there will be a $20 fee. We are a small shop and are tight on storage space!
- Please label the outside of your box in multiple locations with your name, phone number, planned pick-up date, and the date we can donate it by if it has not been picked up.
- Please do not include any perishable items in your box as they stink up our shop.
- Exiting the trail early and hoping we will ship your box back to you? We are happy to do that! We just ask that you cover the shipping costs that it requires to reunite you with your box.

Do you accept thru hiker boxes?
Absolutely! We love being able to help you on your thru hike, and hear all about your adventures up to arriving at our shop. Please follow these guidelines so that we can assist you best!
What needs to be written on my box?
Please label your box in multiple locations with your:
- Name
- Phone number
- Planned pick-up date
- Recycle-by date if it has not been picked up.
How big can my box be?
Your box/container must be 12"x12"x12" or smaller. If we receive a box larger than this, there will be a $20 fee. We are a small shop and are tight on storage space!
Do you return hiker boxes if I do not pick up?
We are happy to do that! We just ask that you cover the shipping costs that it requires to reunite you with your box. Otherwise, we will donate any food items and recycle your box.
Can I include perishables?
Please do not include any perishable items in your box as they rot and stink up our shop!
