Mountainfilm on Tour North Lake Tahoe
Mountainfilm on Tour returns to North Lake Tahoe this November as an exciting and unprecedented two-nights of inspirational film programming. The event is made possible by Peak Design.
Each year, Alpenglow Sports curates a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, Colorado.
Mountainfilm on Tour takes some of the best films from the festival on the road to share the sentiment of changing the world through visual storytelling with the rest of America. Alpenglow has been hosting the event since 2018.
The showcased films explore themes connected to Mountainfilm’s mission of using the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. If you like our Winter Speaker Series, you are definitely going to like Mountainfilm!
Friday 11/10/23
Night 1: Social and Environmental Films
As a part of this year’s offerings, we will host two events, both of which will benefit the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association. The first will be held at Alpenglow Sports on Friday, November 10th and will focus on culturally and socially focused impact films. It is our hope that these films will inspire and facilitate conversation amongst community members. This will be an intimate event at the shop, where dinner will be provided by MOGROG Rotisserie (included in ticket price). Doors and food service start at 5:30pm and the show starts at 7pm.
At the conclusion of the programming, Alpenglow will welcome Mr. Chuck Dickinson from theInner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles(ICYOLA). The inspiration for one of the evening features, The Orchestra that Chuck Built, Mr. Dickinson will be joined by a string quartet of ICYOLA students for a live performance that is not to be missed.
Saturday 11/11/23
Night 2: Adventure Films
The following night, on Saturday, November 11th, we will host a larger scale second event at the Palisades Tahoe Olympic Village Events Center. This curation of films will be focused on highlighting adventure and the indomitable human spirit. In addition to the event itself, representatives from popular adventure, ski, and climbing brands will be in attendance and a great giveaway will benefit the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy an evening of fun, games, and dinner prior to the show. Doors open at 5pm, food starts at 5:30pm, and the show starts at 6:30pm. All ages are welcomed and encouraged to attend both nights.
