Features

Raide believes back panel access is mandatory for any backcountry skiing and snowboarding pack, so they challenged themselves to create the UL pack series, the lightest back panel access packs in the world. Created to push the limits of efficient movement, the UL 35L weighs 800g, including everything you need and nothing you don't.

  • 35L, with expandable rolltop to 40L
  • Removable frame
  • Back-panel access
  • Easy avalanche tool access
  • Rolltop/cinchtop combo creates wet/dry divider for skins
  • Stowable waterproof roll-top
  • Ice tool carry
  • Two zippered zip pockets
  • Radio/hydration pass-through port
  • Ice clipper/carabiner attachment
  • Lashing points for attachments
  • Carry skis four ways
  • Quick-access top zipper to the main compartment
  • Helmet carry

Removable Frame - Structure to support the load. The UL 35L's frame can be removed entirely to shave weight on missions where you don't need the extra load support, or left in for bigger days when you're carrying more gear and want the structure.

Back Panel Access - Access in any situation. Back panel access is a non-negotiable for us. It's the fastest way to quickly access anything in your pack from top to bottom, and will never be obstructed no matter how way you're carrying skis. The zippered frame opening is seamless to open and close, and is easily maneuvered with gloves. This is a critical function that sets the UL pack series apart.

Avalanche Tool Pocket - Quick access when it counts. A dedicated pocket keeps your avy tools organized and quick to reach without dropping your pack, so you're not fumbling through the main compartment in an emergency.

Roll/Cinch Top - A built-in wet pocket for skins. The roll-and-cinch top closure doubles as a wet pocket, keeping wet skins separated from the rest of your gear while still giving you quick, direct access to the top of the pack.

Ski Carry - Four ways to carry. The UL Pack series offers all four ski carry methods found in the LF series: Diagonal, A-frame, Skimo & Vertical Snowboard

Hydration Pass-Through - Stay fueled without stopping. A hydration pass-through port lets you run a hose from a reservoir without opening the pack, keeping you drinking on the move.

Materials - Built light, built tough. Constructed from ALUULA® Graflyte V-125, a fabric chosen to keep the pack at the lightest end of the category, but does sacrifice some durability vs. the LF pack series

AI FAQs

AI generated FAQs about the UL 35L Light Grey Medium

How does the sizing run on this backpack?

The Medium UL 35L fits 19–21-inch torsos. This is the stated torso-fit range for the pack.

How much can I actually fit in this backpack?

The pack holds 35L and expands to 40L with its roll-top fully extended. The expandable capacity gives you extra room when you are carrying a larger backcountry load.

Will this hold a helmet, boots, or other gear I'm bringing along?

The UL 35L has a dedicated helmet-carry system and lashing points for attachments. You can carry a helmet externally while using the lashing points for compatible additional gear.

Are there separate compartments to keep things organized?

The pack has a dedicated avalanche-tool pocket, two zippered pockets, and a roll-and-cinch wet/dry divider for skins. These separate avalanche tools and wet skins from the main gear load for faster organization.

Can I attach skis or a snowboard to the outside?

The UL 35L supports diagonal, A-frame, and Skimo ski carries, plus vertical snowboard carry. You can carry either skis or a snowboard externally using the pack’s dedicated carry options.

How is the weight distributed across my shoulders and hips?

The removable frame adds structure to support the load and can remain installed for bigger gear days. You can remove the frame to reduce weight when you do not need the extra load support.

Can I access items while wearing the pack, or do I need to take it off?

The dedicated avalanche-tool pocket lets you reach avalanche tools without dropping the pack. This keeps essential rescue gear organized and quick to access in an emergency.

Is this backpack waterproof, or will my gear get wet in snow and slush?

The pack has a stowable waterproof roll-top, and its roll-and-cinch closure creates a wet/dry divider for skins. You can keep wet skins separated from the rest of your gear while retaining direct access to the top of the pack.

Is there a dedicated spot for a hydration bladder or water bottle?

The UL 35L is hydration-bladder compatible and includes a hydration pass-through port. You can route a reservoir hose out of the pack without opening it, so you can drink while moving.

Do the pockets work well when I'm wearing gloves?

The zippered frame opening is designed to be easily opened and closed with gloves. You can use the back-panel access zipper without removing your gloves for that opening.
