Features
The Folkrm Tahoma Carbon Splitboard Poles collapse to 64 cm | 25 in and weigh 275 g | 9.7 oz per pole, 45 g lighter than the aluminum Tahoma. Small enough to strap to the outside of your pack for the ride down, long enough, at 140 cm, for poling out long traverses and flat exits. The 44 cm | 17.5 in Folkrm grip, wrapped in ultra density EVA for durability, allows for on the fly pole length adjustments by giving you space to move your hand up and down the pole. The matte 3k carbon shaft adds stiffness where aluminum flexes, and the reinforced Patrol Plate Top Cap and Powder Baskets double as a scraper for clearing snow off your splitboard.
- Extended Ultra Density EVA Foam Grip — Folkrm's signature long grip that allows you to comfortably grab your pole in multiple locations for on the fly pole length adjustments. Now in an ultra density EVA, soft for all day comfort and tough enough for hand shears and snow depth checks.
- Grip Length: 44cm / 17.5 in
- Toothless Adjustment Clasp — A durable clasp to set and fix the length of your pole. Adjust the tightness of the clasp with a thumbscrew, no tools needed.
- Patrol Plate Top Cap — The reinforced flat edges on both sides of the top cap double as a snow scraper, clear your skis or board without breaking stride. Built to take an impact, whether you're whacking cornices or bashing boo to set a rope line.
- Girth Hitched Straps — Connected by a simple girth hitch, through a hole on the back of the top cap, these adjustable pole straps can easily be removed and attached mid tour.
- High Modulus Carbon Construction — High Modulus carbon provides a stiff platform that provides an efficient energy transfer on each pole plant so you can focus on executing your turn. All in a lightweight form so you don’t have to feel guilty about packing that extra Oreo.
- Tungsten Carbide Tip — Used to strengthen armor on military tanks, tungsten seemed like a durable option for a pole tip. Yes it will hold up in pow and rocks.
- TPU Powder Baskets — Thermoplastic elastomer baskets built with edges designed with enough surface area to keep your poles above the snow when it’s deep but enough flex to not hold you back on the steeps.

AI FAQs
AI generated FAQs about the Tahoma Poles Carbon
Are these poles comfortable to grip for hours on the mountain?
The 44 cm extended ultra-density EVA foam grip is made for all-day comfort. Its long shape lets you use multiple hand positions and make on-the-fly adjustments without resetting pole length.
How much do these poles weigh, and will that matter by the end of a long day?
These poles weigh 275 g / 9.7 oz per pole and are stated to be 45 g lighter per pole than the aluminum Tahoma. The high-modulus carbon construction is designed as a lightweight form for carrying on long backcountry days.
Do these poles help me plant and turn more confidently?
The high-modulus carbon shaft is designed to provide a stiff platform and efficient energy transfer with each pole plant. That stiffness supports deliberate pole plants as you focus on executing turns.
Will these poles help me on steep terrain?
The TPU powder baskets have enough flex to avoid holding you back on steeps. Their surface area is also designed to keep the poles above the snow in deep conditions.
How well do these poles hold up to repeated impacts and catches?
The reinforced Patrol Plate Top Cap is built to take impacts from tasks such as whacking cornices or bashing through brush to set a rope line. Its reinforced flat edges also serve as a scraper for clearing snow from a ski or splitboard.
What happens when these poles get dinged up on rocks or ice?
The poles use tungsten carbide tips intended to hold up in both powder and rocks. That durable tip construction is the contact point designed for rocky backcountry travel.
Do these poles come with different grip or strap options?
These poles use a 44 cm extended ultra-density EVA foam grip and adjustable girth-hitched straps. You can remove and reattach the straps mid-tour through the hole on the back of the top cap.
How do these poles compare to heavier or lighter alternatives?
These poles are stated to weigh 275 g / 9.7 oz per pole, which is 45 g lighter per pole than the aluminum Tahoma. Their matte 3K carbon shaft adds stiffness where aluminum flexes.
Should I choose poles with adjustable length, or are fixed poles better for my needs?
These are adjustable telescoping splitboard poles with a 105–140 cm range. They collapse to 64 cm / 25 in for strapping to the outside of your pack and extend to 140 cm for long traverses and flat exits.
Will the grip stay comfortable, or does it wear out over time?
The 44 cm ultra-density EVA grip is made to be soft for all-day comfort and durable for backcountry use. It is described as tough enough for hand shears and snow-depth checks.
