Features

The Folkrm Pahto Ski Poles combine a massive 105 - 140 cm adjustment range with our extended EVA ergonomic grip, so you can set the length you want while allowing for on the fly pole length adjustments. Slide your hand down the grip for the bootpack or a steep side hill, or fully extend the pole for that long flat exit. The reinforced Patrol Plate Top Cap and Powder Baskets double as a scraper for clearing snow off your skis.

  • Extended Ultra Density EVA Foam Grip — Folkrm's signature long grip that allows you to comfortably grab your pole in multiple locations for on the fly pole length adjustments. Now in an ultra density EVA, soft for all day comfort and tough enough for hand shears and snow depth checks.
    • Grip Length: 64 cm / 25 in
  • Toothless Adjustment Clasp — A durable clasp to set and fix the length of your pole. Adjust the tightness of the clasp with a thumbscrew, no tools needed.
  • Patrol Plate Top Cap — The reinforced flat edges on both sides of the top cap double as a snow scraper, clear your skis or board without breaking stride. Built to take an impact, whether you're whacking cornices or bashing boo to set a rope line.
  • Girth Hitched Straps — Connected by a simple girth hitch, through a hole on the back of the top cap, these adjustable pole straps can easily be removed and attached mid tour.
  • 7075 Aluminum Alloy Construction — The highest strength aluminum in common use, the same spec found in F-16 fuselage panels and NASA's Mars Rover. It absorbs the lateral forces of a hard plant without flexing or fatiguing, season after season.
  • Tungsten Carbide Tip — Used to strengthen armor on military tanks, tungsten seemed like a durable option for a pole tip. Yes it will hold up in pow and rocks.
  • TPU Powder Baskets — Thermoplastic elastomer baskets built with edges designed with enough surface area to keep your poles above the snow when it’s deep but enough flex to not hold you back on the steeps.

Are these poles comfortable to grip for hours on the mountain?

The 64 cm extended ultra-density EVA foam grip is soft for all-day comfort. Its long ergonomic shape lets you hold the pole in multiple positions during touring without stopping to readjust its length.

How much do these poles weigh, and will that matter by the end of a long day?

These poles weigh 268 g (9.5 oz). That is the listed weight for the poles you will carry through a full backcountry touring day.

Do these poles help me plant and turn more confidently?

The 7075 aluminum alloy shafts are built to absorb the lateral forces of a hard pole plant without flexing or fatiguing. Tungsten carbide tips provide a durable contact point for skiing in powder and over rocks.

How well do these poles hold up to repeated impacts and catches?

The reinforced Patrol Plate top cap is built to take impacts from tasks such as whacking cornices or bashing brush to set a rope line. The 7075 aluminum alloy shaft is designed to absorb lateral forces from hard plants without flexing or fatiguing.
