Features
Tailored for seasoned experts, guides, alpinists, and all seeking optimal performance via lightness and essentiality, the Kuluar 12 SL is a ski mountaineering binding designed for conquering even the most challenging terrain with confidence and trust. Crafted for skiers who demand the utmost in reliability and versatility, this binding is designed to excel on steep couloirs, mixed-technique approaches, and thrilling descents. Let's delve into the features that make the Kuluar 12 SL a must-have for ski mountaineers.
Toe piece —
- Inspired by our race toe pieces its designed in a maniacal way to reduce the weight to the minimum. On the front lever you can see the result of our micrometric material machining that allowed us to reduce the weight even further.
- Easy Entry System: while the Monolink design lowered the weight of the toe piece (that’s now lighter than the bindings of a similar category) it didn’t affect the carefully studied geometries that facilitate an immediate and precise step-in.
- Integrated but removable rampant support.
Heel piece —
Lateral release adjustability: the Kuluar 12 delivers exceptional power and reliability, with adjustable lateral release values ranging from 6 to 12. Customize your binding settings for optimal safety, control, and performance in diverse mountain environments.
- Adjustability: thanks to the included R01 plate provides 30mm adjustability, accommodating various boot sizes and preferences for a personalized fit.
- Elegant design: all the elegance of the Kuluar 12 SL's design, featuring a lightened and airy heel design.
Performing Through Lightness —
Our foundation, our roots. ATK took its first steps in this industry by developing lightweight race bindings, and now, as then, lightness is key to achieving what athletes crave: speed. Therefore, it's easy to understand why “performance through lightness” has been the mantra that has accompanied ATK's growth in its early years.
As our role in the ski mountaineering universe started to evolve, we needed some stabilization because it's easy to lose control during a phase of growth, just as it is easy to get caught up in the events. That's why we decided to keep our roots stable, not changing our approach to the activity, and ultimately not getting in our own way.
In fact, as we expanded our catalogue to include the speed touring, touring, and free touring categories, we remained steadfast in our commitment to enabling an ever-wider range of ski mountaineers to achieve performance through lightness.
Durability —
Crafted from high-quality materials and engineered to withstand the rigors of backcountry skiing, the Kuluar 12 SL offers exceptional durability and reliability. The carefully machined components and thoughtful construction ensure longevity to this tech binding, providing peace of mind during your most demanding adventures.
