Features

In challenging snow conditions, not every skier is able to maintain a proper Telemark technique. This is where the Newmark Freelock Heel Piece truly stands out. Designed for demanding terrain, the system enables a safe emergency descent using a Telemark boot equipped with a dedicated rear insert. At the same time, it remains fully compatible with alpine touring boots, offering exceptional flexibility across different skiing styles.

Moreover, not every skier is willing to invest in a pair of skis dedicated exclusively to Telemark. For this reason, the Newmark Freelock is designed to maximize versatility, allowing the same ski setup to be used for Telemark, alpine touring, and alpine skiing. The result is a unique all-in-one platform that combines three disciplines in a single solution, delivering outstanding performance and adaptability without the need for multiple specialized ski setups.

  • Freelock: Enjoy complete freedom on the ascent by retracting the heel pins and using the integrated heel riser when the climb gets steeper. With the NTN module engaged, the system delivers an authentic Telemark experience. When additional stability or a different skiing approach is required, a simple motion engages the heel pins, instantly converting the binding into a full pin setup for maximum versatility and control.
  • Length adjustment: An integrated 30 mm adjustment plate in the Freelock heel piece accommodates a wide range of boot sole lengths, making setup changes quick and straightforward without the need for remounting!

AI FAQs

AI generated FAQs about the Freelock Heel

Do I need special telemark boots for these bindings, or will my regular ski boots work?

This heel piece works with Telemark boots that have a dedicated rear insert and with alpine touring boots. It is suited to those compatible boot interfaces, not Telemark boots without the dedicated rear insert.

Can I use these bindings if I'm switching between telemark and alpine skiing?

The Freelock Heel Piece supports a single ski setup for Telemark, alpine touring, and alpine skiing. Engage the NTN module for a Telemark setup, or engage the heel pins to convert it to a full pin setup when you want additional stability or a different skiing approach.

Can I adjust these bindings myself, or do I need to go to a ski shop?

An integrated 30 mm adjustment plate accommodates a wide range of boot sole lengths without remounting. You can make boot-length setup changes quickly and straightforwardly while keeping the heel piece mounted.

Will these bindings hold my boot securely during a turn?

Engaging the heel pins converts the system into a full pin setup for additional stability and control. You can make that change with a simple motion when you want a more locked-in skiing approach.
