Features

Comfort meets stability. Blaze through any trail.

The classic tubular-frame snowshoe in our Trail Walking category, the Access shines on mellower terrain by making your strides feel as natural and effortless as possible. This is accomplished by the innovative technology behind the Access’s frame and suspension system. The turned-up tail of the V-Frame rolls easily into each step for a smooth gait, while the patented Light-Ride™ Suspension allows your foot to articulate naturally and cushions impact for smooth striding on hikes that are flat or have little elevation change. For the traction needed for a stable snowshoeing experience, the Access features the Twin-Trac™ toe crampon that provides grip in all directions as well as Advanced Aft Traction which integrates the sharp-tipped heel cleat with the heel lift for deeper snow penetration. The intuitive Wrapp™ Stretch binding rounds out the design providing a comfortable and secure fit with a simple and intuitive two-buckle closure allowing for an easy entry and exit.

  • Wrapp™ Stretch Binding — The diamond pattern optimizes stretch direction making this binding conforms to your boot, resulting in great fit and control. With tool-less heel strap and roller buckle this is quick fitting binding that is easy to use.
  • Nytex Decking — Flexible Nytex decking is forgiving and quiet when hiking in the cold, providing durability without the weight.
  • Light-Ride™ Suspension — Light-Ride™ Suspension (LRS) is the perfect blend of comfort and function, allowing your foot to articulate naturally and cushioning impact for smooth striding on mellower terrain.
  • Twin-Trac™ Toe Crampon — Sure footing on two planes, the Twin-Trac™ toe crampon uses a sturdy row of front points and two side teeth to keep your foot from twisting.
  • Advanced Aft Traction — Atlas' surest grip comes from the sharp ice tips on the heel cleat. With four angled and ridged side rails and the integrated heel lift bar, the user can expect superior traction and deeper snow penetration with each step.
  • 19º Heel Lift — Provides relief when climbing those long steep hills, and easily stores for flats and descents.

AI FAQs

AI generated FAQs about the Access Elektra W Snowshoe

How do I know if these will fit my feet properly?

The Wrapp™ Stretch Binding uses a diamond-pattern stretch design that conforms to your boot, with a tool-less heel strap and roller buckle. This construction is built to provide a secure fit and control while you move on the trail.

Will these feel comfortable for a full day of walking?

Light-Ride™ Suspension lets your foot articulate naturally and cushions impact for smooth striding. It is designed for mellower terrain, including hikes that are flat or have little elevation change.

How do I adjust these to keep them snug while I'm moving?

The Wrapp™ Stretch Binding uses a simple two-buckle closure, plus a tool-less heel strap and roller buckle. You can make quick binding adjustments while maintaining the secure fit and control created by the stretch-pattern design.

Can I wear these with my regular winter boots, or do I need special footwear?

The Wrapp™ Stretch Binding's diamond-pattern construction conforms to your boot for a comfortable, secure fit, so you can wear your regular winter or hiking boots without needing special snowshoe-specific footwear. This adjustable, tool-less two-buckle closure makes it easy to get a snug fit and quick entry and exit no matter what boots you bring to the trail.

Will these work on packed snow, or do I need something different for icy conditions?

The Twin-Trac™ toe crampon and Advanced Aft Traction heel cleat give you grip in all directions and deeper snow penetration on mellower, packed-snow terrain. This traction system is built for stable striding on flatter trails with little elevation change, not for icy or steep conditions.

Can I use these on steep hillsides without slipping?

The 19º heel lift and Advanced Aft Traction heel cleat with angled, ridged side rails help you climb occasional hills by reducing calf strain and improving grip underfoot. The Access is built for mellower terrain with little elevation change, so it's not designed as a steep-hillside performer.

How quickly can I get these on and off when I'm out on the trail?

The Wrapp™ Stretch Binding has a simple, intuitive two-buckle closure for easy entry and exit. Its tool-less heel strap and roller buckle are designed for quick fitting when you are transitioning on the trail.

Are these better for beginner trails or more advanced backcountry?

The Access Elektra W is a Trail Walking snowshoe designed for mellower terrain. Its Light-Ride™ Suspension is intended for smooth strides on hikes that are flat or have little elevation change.

What's the weight limit for someone using these safely?

The 23-inch version has a 160-pound load limit, while the 27-inch version has a 200+-pound load limit. Choose the snowshoe length according to the stated load limit for that size.

Are these good for both men and women, or are they designed specifically?

The Access Elektra W is designed specifically as a women's snowshoe. Its product type and gender attribute both identify it for women.
