How to choose?
Karakoram or Spark R&D?
Focus on the System
Spark R&D and Karakoram each have dedicated systems to connect bindings to board. The systems focus on two altogether different benefits. Spark R&D is focused on all-out reliability while Karakoram is focused on ride quality and underfoot weight.
Choose Spark Pucks for Reliability
Pucks are dead simple and just work. The Spark system has just one moving part and I've never seen it break. Flat pucks are the most common choice for softboot riders. Canted pucks are gaining popularity. Spark pucks come either in metal or black.
Choose Karakoram for the Ride
Karakoram's ride hardware is lighter than Spark's and promises an elevated ride feel. This is due to active joining that prevents the split halves from pulling apart while riding.
Choosing Karakoram
The Nomad Binding is the only model that we carry from Karakoram. We choose them as the perfect combination of lightweight and a powerful ride. All nomad bindings come with Ride mode 3.0, a toe piece, and heel riser. User the products above to upgrade your system.
Choosing Spark R&D
Arc ST is a medium-flex playful binding and our best seller. Surge ST is the stiffest option with the NR pro as tough softer and much more damp. Arc ST Pro is the lightest and softest flex.
Don't forget crampons
