Features
The KISS HB binding is one of the most exciting and innovative systems to come along in a very long time. There have been two main design goals with the KISS binding.
The first, to simplify the steps at changeover. The entire binding remains on the board at all times. No pulling parts off to put into your pack. No leaving them behind. No dealing with snow and ice. Take the two sides apart, push the steel bails away from the edges, and add the skins at the bottom. Rip the skins off, pull the steel bails into position and click the two sides together at the top, and you're done.
The steel bails are adjusted to boot fit using thumb nuts (no tools) in seconds, while the steel wire shape allows for more lateral boot roll than most HB binding systems. The pucks have 3° of canting AND the top surface is curved to enhance boot roll.
The second goal, was to eliminate the "robotic" feel of hard boots. Anyone using HB knows the significant advantages in the climbs, where we spend 90% of our day, but most would agree that they're "not quite as good" as soft boots riding down. It's a worthwhile trade off we all make.
To this end, we offer the binding with Dynema (replacing the stainless bails). Dynema has a break strength almost double that of steel, and a stretch ratio of almost half. The laterally flexible nature of the Dynema allows the boot to rock on the canted and curved surface of the binding, emulating the feel of a soft boot, removing that robotic lateral feel.
The amount of boot roll can be regulated by moving the bail guides towards the board centre for more lateral roll, and towards the outer edge for less lateral roll. You can increase roll between your feet by moving the outer guides inwards and reduce roll towards the ends by moving the inner guides out. The locking cam tucks under a bungee for the climb. You secure the Dynema by pinching it with set screws in a zig-zag shape within the binding guides.
The binding overlaps the centreline of the board preventing any lateral scissoring, while the three supplied (one attaches to the heel riser inserts between the feet) prevent the two sides from opening. You won't see any difference in board stability between our binding system, and other traditional HB systems, regardless of whether it’s a Soul board or any other Splitboard.
Included with the Binding:
- 4 Base plates including the bail guides with mounting hardware. 2 toe and 2 heel stainless wires with hardware. 4 Dynema Bails. 2 boot locking cams. 2 cam splitlocks and 1 heel riser pattern splitlock, with all hardware.
- Dynema Binding weight is just under 300g per full binding. Steel bails add 80g per foot.
- Final prototype shown. There are minor changes in production.
- Delivery Sept 2026

AI FAQs
AI generated FAQs about the Kiss Hardboot Bindings
Will these bindings fit my boots, or do I need a specific boot type?
These bindings are built for hardboots and use adjustable steel or Dyneema bails to retain the boot. The steel bails adjust to your boot fit with thumb nuts, without tools.
How tight should I strap in, and how do I adjust them to feel secure?
You dial in a secure, boot-fit fit by turning the steel-bail thumb nuts until the bail holds your boot snugly, no tools required. For Dyneema versions, the bails are pinched tight with set screws in a zig-zag pattern within the binding guides, giving you a fit you can fine-tune at the trailhead before you start climbing.
Can I use these bindings if I have smaller or larger feet than average?
The steel bails adjust to your individual boot fit using thumb nuts, with no tools required. You can make fit adjustments in seconds rather than relying on a fixed bail setting.
How secure do these bindings hold my feet during a fall?
Boot locking cams, two cam splitlocks, and a heel-riser-pattern splitlock hold the binding halves closed, and the overlapping baseplate design across the board centerline prevents lateral scissoring. This gives you board stability comparable to traditional hardboot binding systems, so you can trust the connection through variable terrain.
How much flexibility do these bindings allow, and does that affect how the board responds?
The Dyneema bails flex laterally so your boot can rock on the binding's 3° canted, curved surface, and the bail guides let you tune the amount of roll. Moving guides toward the board center increases lateral roll, while moving them outward reduces it for a more restrained response.
How responsive are these bindings to small weight shifts and movements?
The 3° canted, curved puck surface and laterally flexible Dyneema bails allow controlled boot roll, which you can tune by repositioning the bail guides. You can increase roll between your feet by moving outer guides inward and reduce roll toward the board ends by moving inner guides outward.
How do I know if I'm adjusting them correctly for my boot size and riding preference?
Set the steel bails to your boot fit using the thumb nuts, then fine-tune lateral roll by sliding the bail guides toward board center for more roll or toward the outer edge for less. This lets you dial in a feel that matches your boot stiffness and riding preference, whether you want a more locked-in climb or a looser, more natural roll on the way down.
Will these bindings work with my current snowboard, or are there compatibility issues?
These are Phantom-mount bindings compatible with Soul and other splitboards, and they are designed for hardboots. They suit a hardboot splitboard setup rather than a conventional soft-boot binding setup.
