Meet Leanne Pelosi

Leanne Pelosi grew up in Calgary, Canada, and began snowboarding in high school with her younger brother. After finishing a BSc in Biomechanics at the University of Calgary and leaving her soccer aspirations behind, she made the move to Whistler British Columbia. She has been a professional snowboarder for over a decade and is known for being one of the most well-rounded professional snowboarders in the field. From her early competition experiences on the pro tour, to her current backcountry approach, Leanne has woven her passion for filmmaking into her snowboard career.

In her down time, you will find her producing or directing content through her company,ย  Runway Films . Outside snowboarding, Leanne is known for her love for animals and camper living with her fiancรฉ Jeff Keenan and their dog Bella Coola. All photography by Ben Girardi.

"Unexpected Turns"

Life doesnโ€™t always follow the path we expectโ€”sometimes it zigs when we thought it would zag. In her show, "Unexpected Turns," professional snowboarder and filmmaker Leanne Pelosi shares how she navigated the twists and turns of her journey from transitioning out of a soccer career to pushing boundaries in the backcountry and embracing the duality of motherhood and passion. Through powerful stories of resilience, risk-taking, and community, Leanne offers lessons learned in the mountains that can inspire us all to embrace the unknown, carve our own path, and uplift others along the way.

Support Our Free Community Events

Help us keep these free events free! Our events team is comprised of four individuals that work tirelessly to continuously improve our events and increase our nonprofit fundraising. We're not exaggerating when we say that no specialty retailer in the world does what we do - big or small, corporate or independent. And for good reason: a year-round calendar of free events is a taxing proposition for any business.

Our team pulls out all the stops to work with partner brands and organizations to fund each event, which allows them to remain free to the community. However, events such as the Winter Speaker Series have become so big and expensive that this model still stretches our finances thin.

As such, we're hoping to make an appeal to YOU, our community, to help us offset the cost of the Winter Speaker Series. Whether you have been to one show or nearly all of them, we would be ever so grateful if you would consider supporting our free community events with a small contribution.ย
